Reminders
Communication & Contact
We will be contacting you regularly during the school closure. Communication will be via ParentPay so please do check your emails frequently. If you would like to add another parent or guardian to your ParentPay account to receive messages, please let us know. If you know of a Fern Hill family who are not registered on ParentPay, please ask them to get in touch with the school office who can provide account activation details.
The school office will be open every day during the school closure. If you have any queries, you can email them at office@fernhill.rbksch.org or call them on 020 8247 0300 between 9.30 am – 2.30 pm.
If your child has not been in school, we have put their PE Kit and any other personal items in a labelled bag. You will receive instructions via Parent Pay next week about how and when to collect them. If you are self-isolating, please do not come to collect your child’s items – we will keep them for you until you can safely come into school.

Home Learning Activities
We're sad to announce the news that Mrs Farr is moving on to a new school after Easter. She has worked across the infant school for many years, but more recently has been one half of a dynamic duo teaching Clover class! We will miss her very much and wish her all the best in her new school. We are also saying goodbye to the lovely Mrs Monk in the school office. Mrs Monk has been with us for over twenty years, first as a parent and then an invaluable member of staff. We wish her all the very best, spending more time with her family and seeing more of the world. The good news...a very warm welcome to Miss Disalvo (not Mrs Disalvo!) who has joined the team as an apprentice Teaching Assistant, working with Reception and Year 1 children. We are looking forward to getting to know you better!
This will be the last Newsletter for a few weeks so we would like to wish all our families a Happy Easter!
Messages from Mr Scott
Mr Scott shared the following message with the children in school this afternoon. He’d like to share it with all the children at home too.
'Good afternoon everyone! I just wanted to say a huge well done to you all for showing fantastic attitude to your learning this term. I am very proud of each and every one of you!
I hope you have enjoyed all the wonderful learning opportunities your teachers have planned for you this term.
I also hope you enjoy your extended holiday break and manage to have fun with your family and friends.
As many of you will know your end of term holiday break will be longer than usual and as well as having time to rest and time, your teachers have put together lots of fun learning for you to complete during the break.
We all look forward to you sharing your learning when we come back to school.
Have a well-deserved break and come back energised and ready as we have a great deal to look forward to and celebrate together.'
And for all our parents and carers, Mr Scott has this message:
'I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support and positive messages during the very challenging and anxious times we find ourselves facing.
This really is a time that communities are expected to pull together and all my staff are hugely appreciative of the support and sense of togetherness that has been felt across the school.
I hope you and your families stay safe and are able to enjoy time with family and friends.
I will be in communication with you all during the period of extended school closure to update you on any significant developments.
On behalf of the Fern Hill staff , please take care and best wishes.'
Parent Consultation Feedback
We would like to make you aware that your child will not come home today with a written feedback slip as we had planned.
Feedback slips for all children will be sent home electronically by the end of next week. We are adding login information for google classroom to the slip which, for data protection reasons, should be sent by email only.
PSA News & Events
PSA events
As you will be aware, the PSA cancelled today’s planned Mothers’ Day Breakfast as we felt this was the only responsible decision in the current circumstances. The planned cake sales for Years 3 and 4 have also been postponed in light of the school closure. The PSA will make decisions about our scheduled events for the summer term in due course and in consultation with Mr Scott. We will keep parents updated through ParentPay, the newsletter and via class reps. The PSA would like to wish all Fern Hill mums a happy Mother’s Day for this Sunday and we send our very best wishes to all Fern Hill families and the wider community in this challenging time.
Bounce For Books
A huge thank you to everyone who sponsored their children for this year’s Bounce For Books event. We made a fantastic profit of £3,134. All the money raised will go directly to buy new books for the children at school. Thank you for your support and generosity.
