Purpose and objectives of the Voluntary Fund
The Voluntary Fund was set up in 2016 to supplement our school budget at a time when government funding was declining in real terms. This funding shortfall continues, and today we face another significant challenge to our financial position from the pandemic. Its objectives are to advance the education of pupils at Fern Hill Primary School by providing or assisting in the provision of facilities not required to be provided by the Local Education Authority for education at the school.
Impact of the Voluntary Fund
Our priority at Fern Hill is to provide a rich and varied curriculum for the children, one that goes beyond the requirements of the national curriculum and offers exciting learning opportunities for all. The Voluntary Fund has been key to providing this and has enabled us to make a significant investment in IT and broaden the children’s educational experience in school. This investment has also helped us to provide the children with robust and engaging out of school learning during periods of school closure over the past year. Thank you to all the families who have donated and to those who continue to do so — we see the difference you have make every day and are incredibly grateful.
Making a contribution to the Voluntary Fund
Donations are voluntary; there is no obligation to contribute to the Fund but any amount, however small, is very welcome and will make a difference.
There are several ways you can make a donation. You can make a single, one-off contribution, or set up a regular payment, and you can donate by debit or credit card through one of two online platforms — KindLink or ParentPay, by standing order or bank transfer directly into the Voluntary Fund bank account, using childcare vouchers or by cheque or cash. The Voluntary Fund is a registered charity and eligible for Gift Aid. By claiming Gift Aid you increase the value of your donation by 25%. If you donate online through KindLink or ParentPay, you can gift aid your donation at the same time as you process your payment. Otherwise, please complete the Gift Aid Declaration Form available to download below and return it to us.
