Reminders
Pencil Cases
All children in Year 3 to Year 6 should have their own pencil case and stationary in school. Please ensure that items are topped up over the Easter break. You can find out what they should have in their pencil case on the website here.
Lunches for the summer term
School lunches for next term can be ordered now through ParentPay. Lunches for the week of 17th April will need to be ordered by midnight on Sunday 9th April. If you miss this cut-off time, please ensure that your child has a packed lunch from home for every day of that week. The lunch menu is published here.
School Office
The school office closed today and will reopen on Monday 17th April at 8:00 am. Over the Easter break, emails to the office will be monitored remotely and responded to as necessary.

Next term's Home Learning Grids for children in Years 1 to 6 are now available on your child's Home Learning Google Classroom. All work should be completed in time for our next Home Learning Showcase on Friday 26th May.
The deadline for booking next term’s school-run clubs through ParentPay is Monday 17th April. The club timetable and information on how to book is published here. Football club for Years 1 - 2 and Chess club are already fully booked. For clubs run by external providers, please check availability with the providers directly. All clubs will start the second week of the summer term, from Monday 24th April.
Today we rounded off the spring term with our traditional Easter Bonner Parade. A huge well done to all the children - and staff - for some incredible bonnets (definitely the most colourful and complex yet!). The rain brought the Parade into the Large Hall but with the stage set centrally, we all agreed it worked out very well. Two children from each class, and three members of staff, were awarded the best bonnets and Mr Scott announced the Teampoints House winner (see below) and handed out his Headteacher's Award certificates. Do look out for more photos and video clips on your year group Google Classrooms.
This is the last school newsletter of the spring term. We hope that you have a well-deserved break and the children return rested and ready for the exciting summer term we have planned! School opens again on Monday 17th April at the usual time.
Easter Bonnet Parade
First Lego League Winners!
Congratulations to Olivia in Year 6 and Jacob in Year 5 who won second place in the First Lego League competition for 9-16 year olds! They presented their winning robot in assembly and Olivia has written the following report:
On Friday, I was part of a team that competed in the Regionals of a Global LEGO engineering, coding and robotics competition. There were 7 teams altogether (mostly from secondary schools). Our team -The Minifigs - had been working on the robot design, code and innovation projects for over 3 months. The robot we designed and coded took part in 3 runs with the aim to successfully complete all the tasks and score as many points as possible. We scored close to the maximum on each run!
The second part of the competition was to present our innovation project about solar panels. We showed our research, made recommendations and presented several prototypes we had created including a flexible solar panel which we had wired up to power a buzzer. When you shone a torch on the panel, the buzzer sound was louder. Our team won a trophy for BEST ROBOT PERFORMANCE, and we all got medals for our hard work and effort!
Book of the Week
'The Light in Everything' by Katya Balen

Zofia and Tom are opposites: Zofia is bold, brave and loud while Tom is quiet and fearful. Zofia is training herself to withstand the cold seawater and swim to a rocky outcrop the locals call ‘Fiji’ while Tom makes paper cranes and sleeps with the lights on to drive out the dark. But when Zofia’s dad and Tom’s mum move in together, they must learn to get along, especially because their parents are also expecting a baby together. As Zofia and Tom begin to understand one another they realise that perhaps they have more in common than they know, and perhaps they can find a way to be a family. 'The Light in Everything' is a quiet story, but it is exquisitely written, full of big emotions, vivid descriptions and authentic, heartrending moments. Highly recommended!

At the end of term, the number of team points each House receives is allocated based on their position (1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th) each week of the term.
The overall winner is COOMBE (again...!) with 3,190 team points.

A night to remember!
A huge thank you to everyone who came and joined in the fun and laughter at the PSA Comedy Night and helped make it such a great success! And special thanks to Becky, Angelika and Kate for organising this fantastic event.
Easter Egg Hunt - thank you!
A big thank you to Jen, Jenny, and their team of volunteers for a brilliant Easter Egg Hunt for our younger children last Saturday. The rain stayed away, and the children had a great time hunting, and eating, their yummy prizes, and playing with their friends too!
Easter Holiday Trail - tickets still available
Looking for activities to entertain your children over the holiday? There is still time to buy your tickets for our PSA Easter Trail. It's open to all children and runs from 1st - 15th April.
The PSA needs your help!
How? We need at least 30 parents (not from the same family) to attend a meeting for a maximum of 20 minutes at 9:00 am on Friday 19th May.
Why? We have to take a vote to change our constitution (the document which governs how we operate as a charity). We are currently required to have 30 people attend this meeting in order to make the changes we would like to make which include making how we can operate more flexible and allowing for virtual meetings.
Where? At school in the Small Hall on Friday 19th May from 9:00 - 9:20 am. Thank you!
