Year 5 Girls Attend a Physics Workshop
Six of our girls from year 5 have been selected to participate in a 6 month project organised by The Kingston Academy to encourage talented female students to pursue a career in STEM.
SPARK STEM is a bespoke programme created by TKA for the local community. It aims to open pupils eyes to fabulous opportunities within the field of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics.
The project launched this week with a visit to Homerton College, Cambridge where our girls explored physics and attended lectures with students from Latchmere School and TKA.
In June the girls will visit Google HQ in London, July will see them attend a workshop in an architects studio, September is all about engineering and in October there will be a presentation of pupil experiences.
The children from Fern Hill are supported by buddies from The Kingston Academy who are a STEM specialist school.
