Today we said goodbye to our lovely Year 6 leavers. We also said goodbye to the families who are leaving Fern Hill, some of whom have been here for many years. We wish everyone the very best in their new secondary schools and hope they carry forward the values learnt and demonstrated at Fern Hill on to their exciting journeys ahead.
Despite the challenges of social distancing, the children enjoyed a virtual Leavers’ Assembly where they shared their heartfelt and very funny memories of Fern Hill and also their ambitions for the future. Mr Scott presented them with their Leavers’ Certificates and the Yearbooks were given out. The day ended in the sunshine, with a picnic on the astroturf outside The Kingston Academy and an opportunity for the children to show off their 'Wacky Wednesday' outfits!
Thank you too to the amazing Year 6 staff team who have worked so hard to ensure the children could celebrate their time at Fern Hill, including the traditional shirt signing, undeterred by the complications of our class bubbles!
We captured a few moments from the day here.
