The Year 6 Leavers' Yearbook is now ready to order, it has come out a bit less than anticipated at £16.65. Please pay at:

Reading Scheme Books

Dads’ Breakfast, Friday 13th July
An invitation to our last Dads’ Breakfast of this school year was sent out today on Parent Pay. It’s on Friday 13th July and will run from 8.00 – 8.45 am in the Large Hall at school. If you would like to attend, please complete and return the reply slip or email fernhillpsa@gmail.com with your name and the names and year groups of your children by Monday 9th July.
YEAR 5 BIKEABILITY 2nd- 6th July 2018 Just a reminder for those taking part in Bikeability next week. Remember to bring your bike and helmet every day and lock it up at the racks outside school. Don’t forget the key to your lock if you have one! You will be outside most of the time, so dress appropriately – sunscreen and water will be essential if this hot weather continues!
Please make sure the on-line register has been completed which gives parental consent. Details were sent out in the letter that went home.
The course runs every day for two hours and you need to come down to the Office promptly for 10.00am. Hope you enjoy the course - happy cycling!

Fern Hill Summer Fair
We are delighted to tell you that our Summer Fair raised over £11,700! This is an amazing amount and all down to the tremendous support of every family who came to enjoy the day, bought raffle tickets or hosted a Curchods board. A huge thank you to the team who organised the Fair and to all the helpers for their hard work.
Hedge Fund
We are continuing with our fundraising for £7000 to plant a pollution-catching, environment-enhancing, privacy-improving hedge between the playground and Richmond Road: The Healthy Hedge Fund.
So far £1500 has been raised in lots of different ways. Some money has been raised by individual children!. Lucas from Bluebell class raised £1.50, Reilly from Lime class raised £38.60 and Charlotte from Beech raised £20.00. Every penny counts so well done everyone who has donated in one way or another.

PSA Summer Social, Friday 6th July - tickets going fast!
Tickets for the PSA’s Summer Social have been selling fast this week. The event promises to be a great night out; the perfect opportunity for parents, grandparents, carers, and staff to get together for an end of term celebration and raise money for school funds. A professional DJ will be keeping the music going while Peppe’s serve delicious pizza and finger food straight from the oven and Canbury Secret provide the sweet treats. We’ll have a cash bar with all the usual beverages plus a wine tasting challenge with a chance to win a bottle of fine wine. Tickets are priced at £12, includes food and your first drink. The last day to purchase tickets will be Monday 2nd July.

The sale was a great success after school today. We will be selling more on Monday and whilst stocks last.
Primary Engineers Competition
We are delighted to announce that our Primary Engineers competition children have successfully completed the 2018 STEM Leaders of Science project! We have received excellent results through the programme, resulting in our Fern Hill Primary School children being awarded with either a PASS, MERIT or DISTINCTION with some who have been highly recommended by the judges. We invite you to a public exhibition of the invention designs that will take place on Friday 6th July 2018 from 10.00am – 4.00pm at Kingston University, London. Booking is not required but for more details, visit the Kingston University website.
School Lunches
We are excited to announce that from September we will be offering a fourth main meal option – the ‘Pasta pot’. Following the popularity of our recently introduced pasta with pesto dish, we are offering pasta with tomato sauce and pasta with pesto on alternate days.
ParentPay lunch ordering for the first half of the Autumn term will open on Monday, when the new menu will also be available on the website. Look out for the Free Taster lunch on Thursday 4th October when we will be serving turkey or vegetarian burgers with our delicious fresh strawberry tart for dessert.

Class Photos
The deadline date for free delivery and to make sure the photographs are back by the last day of term is:
Friday 6th July 2018 after this date there will be a surcharge of £3 for delivery.
Sample photographs have been given to your class teacher to show anyone who wishes to see a finished copy of the 12x5" class photograph in its mount.
Also a sample of the large, 18x8" Year 6 Leavers photograph is on display in the music room window, outside the Year 6 exit, in the KS2 playground for anyone who wishes to take a look at end of day pick up.
