Reminders
School Photographs
Please remember to order your child’s school photograph by Monday 5th November. Details of how to order were sent home with the photo proof sheet before half term. Orders can be placed directly with the school photographer, In Time Photography, via their website using the link and password on your proof sheet. You may also order via school: return the proof sheet with payment (cash or cheques payable to K. Bahara) to your class teacher. Orders placed by 5th November will be delivered free of charge; orders can still be taken after this date but will be subject to a £3 delivery charge. If you have any queries or did not receive a proof sheet, please contact In Time Photography directly via email at info@inTime-Photography.com or by telephone on 07931 593 169.
Don't forget your coat!
With the colder weather, please do make sure your child brings a coat to school. Unless it is very wet, children spend their breaktime and lunchtime play outside.

Christmas Market
On Friday 23rd November, the North Kingston Mums in Business group are running their annual Christmas shopping event, selling original and hand crafted gifts, artwork, jewellery and much more. The Market will be held at The Queens Head on Richmond Road from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm and entry is free. Please see the attached poster for more information.
Home-Start Parenting Talk: Future Proof your Child
On Thursday 15th November, Home-Start are hosting an educational event for parents with guidance on helping children to develop the skills they need to succeed in today's world. Dr Kathy Weston will be sharing practical tips on growth mind-set, personal resilience and social skills. This event will be held at Surbiton High School and starts at 7.30 pm. Please see the attached poster for more information.
Remembrance Sunday
On Monday 12th November, children will mark Remembrance Sunday with a school silence at 11.00 am during assembly when they will be reflecting on heroes throughout history who have given up their lives for others. Our Year 6 children are selling poppies before school every morning next week at both the KS1 and KS2 gates.
Children in Need Big Spotacular!
Children and staff are invited to come to school dressed in spots on Friday 16th November when we will be making a difference to young lives by celebrating the BBC Children in Need appeal and raising money that will have a life changing impact on disadvantaged children throughout the UK. Children in Year 6 will be at the gates in the morning to collect donations for this wonderful charity and the PSA will be running a themed cake sale after school.
On Thursday 15th November, we will be selling colour changing wristbands and Pudsey pin badges in school so please send £1 in with your child if they would like to buy one. All proceeds will go directly to the BBC Children in Need charity which you can find out more about here.

Yet another exciting opportunity to watch top class women's football!
Following last season’s nail biter between Chelsea and local London rivals, Arsenal, the Football Association are again promoting the Women's FA Cup Final, which will be held on 4 May 2019, with free tickets for children. Please click here for further information and to purchase tickets.
After School Club News
Don't forget that Start to Sing club for children in Years 1 and 2 starts on Monday 5th November at 3.30 pm.
Tree Tops News
On Wednesday 7th November, Tree Tops after school club will move from the Small Hall to the Nursery to allow the PSA to prepare for Fireworks Night. If your child is attending a Tree Tops session after school next Wednesday, please remember to collect your child from the Nursery, via the Nursery gates only and not through school reception. A member of Tree Tops staff will be available to open the gates for you. On Thursday 8th November, Tree Tops will be back in the Small Hall with collection via the KS2 gates.

PSA News
The PSA's fabulous Fireworks Night is on Wednesday 7th November! Please remember to bring your tickets along - doors open at 5.30 pm. There will be plenty of stalls selling refreshments including toffee apples, popcorn, hotdogs (meat and vegetarian option available), hot chocolate, juice, tea, coffee, mulled wine and beer. If buying tea and coffee, please bring your own reusable lidded mug where possible to reduce waste and avoid accidents with hot drinks in the playground. There will also be a fantastic selection of glowsticks to buy! Please remember no sparklers - thank you. A map showing details of the event is attached to this newsletter.

Santa Fun Run in aid of Princess Alice Hospice
Now the clocks have changed and the temperature has dropped, what better way to launch into the festive season than a Santa Fun Run! Princess Alice Hospice’s fun runs are taking place in three amazing locations: Richmond Park, Painshill Park and Bushy Park, over the weeks running up to Christmas. The runs are for everyone - individuals, families, groups of friends or colleagues and schools and you can choose to run, jog, or even just walk the dog! The runs are buggy and wheelchair friendly too. Princess Alice Hospice are offering 15% off until 7th November plus a free prize draw for those registering and please remember to mention school on your form - Fern Hill could win a £50 Amazon gift voucher if we get the most signs up!
