Reminders
Flu Immunisations
On 19th November, during the school day, our school nurse will be offering the flu vaccination as a nasal spray to all children from Reception to Year 6. A letter with information about the vaccine and a consent form were sent home with your child last week. Please return this form to your class teacher as soon as possible to let us know whether you consent to your child having the nasal spray or not. It is very important that a consent form is returned for every child. If you have not received a consent form, please speak to your class teacher or contact the school office.
Collection from After School Clubs
All after school and lunchtime clubs have now started. If you aren't sure where to collect your child from at 4.30 pm, please refer to the Club Collection Points page on the website here. A list of collection points is also displayed on the doors to school reception.

Curriculum Evening
We are delighted to confirm this year’s Curriculum Evening which will be held on Tuesday 8th October 2019. This is an opportunity for parents and carers across all year groups to gain a greater insight into aspects of teaching and learning at Fern Hill. The evening will begin at 6.45 pm with refreshments in the Large Hall, followed by four workshops which will run consecutively and cover a wide range of topics including maths, science, reading and pupil wellbeing. A summary of the content of each workshop will be available on our website early next week. If you would like to find out more about the Curriculum Evening we ran in April, the workshop presentations are posted on our website here.
To register for the Curriculum Evening, please click on the link below. The closing date for registration is Monday 7th October at 12.00 pm. Please note that this event is for parents and carers only, not children.
We are the very proud recipients of the prestigious Artsmark!
Artsmark is Arts Council England’s award for schools and education settings that champion cultural education and embrace the arts across their curriculum, bringing them to life in the classroom and ensuring the children are given the opportunity to explore and build a life-long love of the arts.
About Artsmark Award
The Artsmark Award has been created to help unlock the potential of children and young people; to develop their talent and increase their learning, knowledge and understanding helping them to build skills, resilience, confidence and character.
Awarded by Arts Council England, Artsmark is designed by schools, for schools, to help them deliver high quality art and cultural education. Artsmark schools gain access to exceptional resources as well as networks of the country’s most treasured cultural organisations, helping them develop and strengthen their art provision. You can find out more about the Artsmark Award here.
