Next week, every day after school, our School Councillors will be running a pocket money stall outside school reception, to raise money for one of our linked charities, The Lunchbowl Network. They will be selling small gifts that have been handmade by the families the charity supports.
The Lunchbowl Network was set up to help orphaned and vulnerable children living in Kiberia, a very poor district of Nairobi in Kenya. Initially, the charity offered 450 children a good lunch on a Saturday; now they provide the children with access to education and route out of poverty through their nursery and primary school.
On Friday 10th December, we're taking part in Save the Children's Christmas Jumper Day!
Children are invited to pull on their Christmassy knits and show their support for Save the Children by wearing a Christmas jumper instead of their school uniform jumper or cardigan. Please don't feel you have to buy your child a Christmas jumper if they don't already have one - a school jumper decorated with tinsel is perfect! This is not a mufti day so children should still wear their school polo shirt or shirt and tie and school skirt or trousers.
We’ll be setting up a special Save the Children JustGiving page for any donations you would like to make. Look out for the link next week.
Festive Celebrations
Friday 10th December is the first day of our Festive Concerts! Please see the Key Dates section for the date of your child's concert.
Don't forget that if your child would like to give Christmas cards to their friends, cards should come into school by Friday 10th December. The children can post them in their class post boxes to be handed out over the last week of term.
Our whole school Christmas Lunch for children and staff will be held on Wednesday 15th December. Please see below for important information about what you need to do.
Thursday 16th is the Christmas Party day for children in Reception through to Year 6. As usual, it is a mufti day and the children may wear party clothes to school. Like last year, we are again asking you to provide a party packed lunch for your child. Unfortunately, we won't be inviting parent helpers into the classroom to set up the party. Before, or after, their party, the children will also enjoy a pantomime. The performance will be personalised for us and delivered virtually. Thank you so much to the PSA for funding this.
Friday 17th is the last day of the autumn term. It’s a mufti day of course and school will close at 1:30 pm. Tree Tops will run a full session only, from 1:30 – 4:30 pm.
Nursery’s Christmas party day will be held on Friday 17th December.
Christmas Lunch
There is still time to place an order for your child's Christmas lunch if you haven't already done so but be quick! The order deadline is midnight this Sunday 5th December.
ParentPay shows the standard menu for Wednesday 15th and not the special Christmas meal that will be served (see attachment below). We are offering a main and vegetarian option only and will not be serving pasta or jacket potatoes on this day. If you have already ordered a hot lunch for Wednesday 15th December, please make sure that you have selected either the MAIN or VEGETARIAN option. If your current selection is pasta or a jacket potato, you will need to amend your choice before the usual lunch order deadline: midnight on Sunday 5th December.
If you have selected the MAIN option, we also need to know in advance whether your child would like the pork sausage wrapped in bacon. Please complete the short form linked here. If you do not complete this form, your child will not be given a pork sausage.
