Thank you to the PSA for hosting our first ever Mother's Day Afternoon Tea on Friday. Congratulations to the winner of the lovely hamper!
The Gardening Club planted some beautiful pots to take home as gifts too...
On Sunday 20th March, Ethan, Morgan, Charlotte and Max undertook a sponsored walk to raise money to help the humanitarian situation in Ukraine.
Wanting to do their bit to help, the children made the decision themselves and walked 7.3km in Richmond Park.
The families would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for their kind words of encouragement and donations to their JustGiving page!
To date the children have raised £675 and we are all extremely proud of them.
Together, we have raised £493 for Comic Relief through our JustGiving page and Red Nose sale. Thank you! There is still time to donate if you can; we'll keep the JustGiving page open until the end of term.
End of Term
Next Friday is the last day of the spring term and school will close early at 1:30 pm. Pick up times will be staggered to help you collect siblings on time. The children will be dismissed as follows:
1:25 pm - Reception
1:30 pm – Nursery, Year 1, Year 2
1:35 pm – Year 3, Year 4, Year 5, Year 6
As usual, it will be a mufti day and children are welcome to wear their own clothes to school - but no football strips please!
Nursery will close at 1:30 pm and Nursery Lunch Club will run as usual. If your child is attending Tree Tops after school on Friday, please remember that the session will end promptly at 4:30 pm.
Easter Bonnet Parade 
We will be celebrating the end of the spring term with our traditional Easter Bonnet Parade and, over the course of the week, the children will be making their very own Easter bonnets. At the parade on Friday, Mr Scott will award two winners from each class. There will be plenty of resources for the children to use in their classrooms but they are very welcome to bring in their own from home too. We'll be sharing the fabulous creations with you in the newsletter and on the Google Classroom.
Extracurricular Clubs
Next term's extracurricular lunchtime and after school clubs for children in Years 1 through to 6 are now available to book. The club timetable and information on how to book is attached below and published on our website here.
For school run clubs, booking and payment is made through ParentPay. For clubs run by external providers, bookings should be made directly with the providers themselves - click here for their contact details.
Parents’ Evening will be held on Wednesday 20th April, 4:00 – 7:00 pm and Thursday 21st April, 1:45 – 6:00 pm. This is for the whole school (excluding Chestnut and Foxglove classes who will have their Parents’ Evenings this term).
Our Parents' Evening System is now open for you to book a video or in-person appointment with your class teacher. Please note that the booking window will close at 10:00 am Monday 28th March. Further information, including a link to the Parents' Evening System, is attached below.
On Thursday 21st April, school will close early at 1:30 pm for children in Reception through to Year 6. Nursery will run until 3:25 pm as normal.
Tree Tops will run from 1:30 – 6:00 pm; the sessions will remain the same but take into account the early closure. There will be no additional charge for the extended provision.
Early Half session — 1:30 – 4:30 pm
Late Half session — 2:30 – 6:00 pm
Full session — 1:30 – 6:00 pm
Nursery children may join the Early Half session as usual.
To ensure appropriate staffing, the usual Tree Tops deadline does not apply for Thursday 21st April. All bookings must be made and paid for through ParentPay by midnight on Sunday 27th March. This is the cutoff point for a guaranteed place. Thereafter, to make a booking, you should email treetops@fernhill.rbksch.org to request a place on the waiting list. Bookings made through ParentPay after the deadline will be automatically cancelled.
School Lunches
Lunches for the first half of the summer term are now available to order through ParentPay. The menu is attached below and on the website here. Information on how to order a lunch using ParentPay is published on our website here.
The order deadline for the first week back after the Easter break is midnight Sunday 9th April however, to guarantee your child’s choice of meal option, please place your orders for Tuesday 19th - Friday 22nd April by Thursday 31st March.
Catch-up lunchtime & after school clubs next week
Most clubs have now finished for the term but the following catch up sessions will run next week:
Monday 28th March – Start to Sing (Year 1 & 2) at 3:30 pm
Tuesday 29th March – Choir (Year 3 – 6) catch up session 1 at 3:30 pm
Thursday 31st March – Keyboards (lunchtime); Magpie Makes Sewing (Year 3-6) at 3:30 pm
Friday 1st April – Choir (Year 3 – 6) catch up session 2 at 1:30 pm; Infant Gymnastics (lunchtime); Pottery at 1:30 pm (don't forget that school closes early on 1st April).
