FernFest 2022 Raffle
Year 5 Enterprise Fair
We are very excited to announce the Year 5 Enterprise Fair that will be held on Thursday 21st July after school. The children will be developing their own product or service businesses and have the opportunity to pitch and sell their enterprises to the whole school community at the Fair. Please save the date and we’ll be sending you further information very soon!
National Book Tokens are giving five schools £1,000 to spend on books each, plus membership to the School Library Association, to help them build their range of books and encourage reading for pleasure now and for generations to come. Please nominate us using this linked form before the end of term. If we're one of the five winning entries, you’ll also win a £100 National Book Token for yourself! Thank you.
The summer fair is back...the biggest event of the school year!
We hope you can all make it to FernFest tomorrow, our annual Summer Fair. After a two-year break, we are really excited to be hosting this wonderful family event again - all are welcome, so please bring your friends and neighbours along too.
A huge thank you to the PSA team who have worked so hard to make this the best fair yet - and to all the local business who are supporting the fundraising.
You will have received a ParentPay email earlier today with a few final messages from the PSA. In case you missed it, here they are again:
"FernFest 2022 - one day to go!
We are so excited to see you all at school this Saturday from 12:00 - 3:00 pm for FernFest 2022, the annual PSA summer fair! Here are a few reminders and tips for the day:
FernFest Brochure
Today, your children will be bringing home a fair brochure which includes a map of where all the stalls and activities will be around the school site. Remember to make sure you bring this along with you tomorrow! The brochure also includes a calendar for the forthcoming academic year with Fern Hill holiday and INSET dates, so it makes a really useful addition to your fridge door!
Please bring cash!
We’d be very grateful if you could bring cash with you - only a few stalls will be able to accept card payments.
Crown and cake making competitions
Don’t forget to spend some time this evening finessing your crowns and baking your jubilee cakes to enter our crown and cake competitions at the fair!
Raffle
There is still time to buy your raffle tickets by clicking here. The draw will be made at 2:30 pm at the fair. For further information, see the attachments below.
Donations - plants and international food
We are still in need of donations for our plant stall and international food stall! Please bring your donations in later today or tomorrow when you arrive at the fair. For international food, if you could fill in details of your dish on this linked form, that would be very useful.
We are looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow. Everyone has been working so hard to put on what we’re sure will be an amazing event!"
Class Photographs
Your child’s class photograph is now available to view and order online via the school photographer’s secure website using the link and password that was sent to you today via ParentPay. Please note that the password is unique to your class and should not be shared with anyone outside your class for data protection reasons.
Orders must be placed by Monday 4th July to qualify for free delivery to school before the end of term. Orders can still be placed after this date but will be subject to a £3.50 delivery charge to your home address.
When ordering, please add your child's name and class in the instructions box next to the thumbnail image at the cart stage. This is to ensure that the photographs are distributed to the correct children.
If you have any queries, please contact the school photographer, Kans, directly by email at: info@inTime-Photography.com or by phone on 07931 593169.
School Uniform
Our school uniform supplier, PMG Schoolwear, will be running an appointment system over the summer months again this year for families who would like dedicated time and a member of staff to assist them with fitting and purchasing uniform. Appointments are available to book now and will run from 1st July. To book, please click here. The cut-off date for ordering uniform for the start of the new school year is 12th August. Year 6 School Journey
We wish our Year 6 children an adventurous and exciting couple of days away next week at PGL Liddington. Don’t forget, your child needs a packed lunch for Monday and any medicines must be signed in with Mrs Whitehouse in the Large Hall between 8:40 – 8:50 am. When they arrive at school (at the normal time), the children should drop their bags in the Large Hall and head off to their classrooms as usual for registration. The coaches will be arriving at around 9:30 am for a 10:00 am departure. We expect the children to arrive back at school at approximately 4:00 pm on Wednesday 29th June when they will be dismissed by their class teachers. We’ll confirm their arrival time via ParentPay once they have left PGL Liddington so you can be at school to meet them when they arrive.
