End of Year Reports
All End of Year Reports have been sent out through ParentPay. If you have not received your child's, please contact the school office by email at: office@fernhill.rbksch.org. Please remember to acknowledge receipt of your report via the linked form we sent you. We were delighted that so many of you came along to the Open Afternoon on Wednesday; we hope you enjoyed sharing your child's learning and found it useful to meet their new class teacher.
KET's summer term newsletter is available to read here
It’s been a busy term and we are all looking forward to a well-earned rest over the summer break. We hope the children have enjoyed their year and hold memories that they will cherish. You can read about just some of the many highlights here.
Today we say goodbye to all of our Year 6 children. We wish everyone the very best in their new secondary schools and hope they carry forward the values they have learnt and demonstrated at Fern Hill on to their exciting journeys ahead. We loved watching your performance of Macbeth this week and being a part of your Leavers' Assembly yesterday. We will miss you all! We also say goodbye and good luck to the staff members leaving. You will all be dearly missed by the Fern Hill family.
We would also like to say a huge thank you for all the donations of toys and games for the children this week. They will be used in the classrooms for wet play days, the quiet area in the Secret Garden and to replenish the books in the outdoor book cupboards.
We hope you have a wonderful summer and that the children return on Monday 5th September, re-energised and ready for the exciting term ahead.
The children's first week back at school is Welcome Week when they will take part in lots of different activities to create a sense of belonging and togetherness in their class. They will also explore the diversity of their class, celebrating the different cultures and identities. It's also a time to set expectations and establish the routines for the new school year.
As part of Welcome Week, we will be holding a Parent Welcome meeting for each year group where your new class teacher will share information on what the children will be learning throughout the year. These will be held at 9:00 am in the Large Hall. Please see the Key Dates section for the date of your child's year group meeting.
Booking for lunchtime and after school clubs is now open for the autumn term. The schedule and information on how to book are published on the website here.
We are delighted to offer three new clubs for the autumn term: Technokids Lego Robotics for Years 1 - 6 on Mondays, JA Sports Invasion Games for Years 3 - 6 on Tuesdays and Bake with Rana, also for Years 3 - 6, on Fridays. Unfortunately, Spartans Basketball club will not be running next term – we hope to see them back in the spring.
Team Points
At the end of term, the number of team points each House receives is allocated based on their position (1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th) each week of the term.

PSA News & Events
A thank you from your PSA Committee!
The PSA committee would like to say a big "thank you" to all the parents, carers, staff, and pupils who have given their time, effort, and money in support of our fundraising events and activities this year. With the return of events in school this year, it has been brilliant to see the school community coming together to have fun and raise money for the school.
Through events including Fireworks Night, our Winter and Summer Fairs, Mother's and Father's Day events, and Bounce4Books, activities such as Cauliflower Cards and Jubilee tea towels, and general fundraising through initiatives such as AmazonSmile, we have raised over £25,000 this year! This is an incredible achievement in a year in which we have been emerging from COVID restrictions, and we will update you next term with details of what the money raised will be used for.
We have an exciting calendar events to share with you next year, so watch this space!
Dragon Boat Race - great results for Fern Hill teams!
Thanks so much to everyone who took part and supported this event on Sunday. It was a great day and fantastic achievement.
The dads came 4th overall with the final race going to form. A brilliant effort.
The mums came 3rd in the all women category as well as the fancy dress and took home a well deserved medal too!
Over £1880 was raised for the PSA! Amazing generosity during these times and a testament to the community spirit.

Well done everyone!
