Reminders
Scooters and bikes
For safety reasons, please do not ride scooters and bikes on school grounds — dismount from them before entering the site at the Richmond Road entrance. Scooters and bikes may not be left inside the school building or in the playgrounds during the day but can be locked to the scooter ‘mushrooms’ or bike racks that we have available. Please bear in mind that these are accessible to the public during the school day, so please use a lock. Thank you.
Dogs
We have a duty of care to all our families and because of this, dogs are not permitted anywhere on the school site. Please do not leave your dog unattended outside the school site while you drop off or collect your child. This particularly important at the moment, given the number of families gathering outside the main school entrance while waiting to be called on site. Thank you.

Parent Governor Vacancy
Kingston Music Service
Face to face tuition from KMS tutors at school will not resume immediately this term. We hope to welcome tutors back after the May half-term break. If you have any queries, please contact KMS directly.
Thank you to all the families who have registered for our new parent app/website, SIMS Parent, that allows you to access and request changes to the data we hold on you and your children. Many of you have already requested changes — please bear with us as we work through these updates over the next couple of weeks. Activation codes were sent out via email before the Easter break. Codes expire after 14 days so if you need a replacement, please contact the school office. Codes are unique to an individual; if you need an additional login then please let us know.
Welcome back to a very sunny start to the summer term! We hope you enjoyed the Easter break and are all looking forward to an exciting term ahead. It’s lovely to have all the children back. Subject to government restrictions and Department for Education guidelines we will begin a phased transition back to normality at school this term. Workshops in school for the children, both virtual and in-person, and even some educational visits out of school are being planned and a limited number of after school clubs will also start next week with a view to increasing the number and variety running after the May half-term holiday. Although we will not be able to come together as a community for our usual Sports Day, we are organising an inter-house, year group celebration of sport later this term. Class assemblies will resume too, hosted on Google Classroom, to showcase the wonderful work the children are doing every day. Look out for further details in next week’s newsletter…
And the winner is...!
Congratulations to Coombe, last term’s Team Points winners. Well done to all the children!
1st place — COOMBE (10 points)
2nd place — KINGSTON (8 points)
Joint 3rd place — HAMPTON & RICHMOND (6 points)
School Lunches
Please may we remind you to order school lunches via ParentPay by the deadline. If you have not yet ordered school lunches for next week, your child should bring a packed lunch from home.
For lunches for Tuesday 4th — Friday 7th May, please place your order on ParentPay by midnight Sunday 25th April.
If your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2, school lunches are free of charge but you must place your order and make a selection from the menu on ParentPay.
You can find further information about school lunches on the website here.
After school clubs begin next week, from Monday 26th April. Please see the website here for more information on club dates.
Please collect your child promptly when their club ends. Details of where to collect your child from are available on the website here.
If your child is in Year 1 or 2 and attending the Just 4 Kicks football club on Mondays, don’t forget that their sessions run earlier than usual, from 3:15 – 4:15 pm. All other clubs run from 3:30 – 4:30 pm.
There are still a few places left on the Just4Kicks Junior Football club (Year 3 & 4) on Wednesdays and the Fern Hill Junior Football club (Year 5 & 6) on Thursdays. Please contact us at: clubs@fernhill.rbksch.org if your child would like to join one of these this term. Places on our after school clubs must be booked in advanced — if a child arrives at a club and are not on the register, they will not be able to participate and will need to be collected from school straight away.
Places with ESG Tennis England for Year 3 & 4 are also still available on Tuesdays — please contact ESG directly to book.
For further information on clubs running this term, please see the website here.
