ParentPay
We have been informed that there is an issue with ParentPay that is preventing our communications from being received by email addresses owned by BT (iBT Internet, Openworld and Talk21). ParentPay are working to resolve it as quickly as possible. The emails we send you from ParentPay are still viewable via the ‘Communication’ section of your ParentPay account which you can access from the top menu bar of your ParentPay screen.
With hayfever season in full swing now, our supply of tissues runs out very quickly. Any donations of boxes of tissues would be gratefully received. Thank you.
Thank you!
We raised an amazing £762 for the NSPCC last week. Thank you so much for choosing to help the NSPCC and support the work they do through their Speak out Stay safe programme in schools, therapeutic services, national helplines, research projects and campaigns for change to prevent abuse, support families and help rebuild children's lives. There’s still time to donate if you would like to — we will be keeping the JustGiving page open for a while yet — and your donation will go directly to the NSPCC.
Lunches for the second half of the summer term are now available to order online via ParentPay.
The menu is attached below and is also available to view on ParentPay when you place your order.
The deadline for ordering lunches for week commencing 7th June, is slightly shorter than usual to allow for the May half-term break. Please place your orders by midnight on Sunday 23rd May. The deadline will revert to normal for the second week back.

Lunches for 14th — 18th June — place your order by midnight Sunday 6th June

Parent Governor Elections
On Tuesday, all parents and carers with parental responsibility, will have received an email from Choice Voting, inviting them to vote for one of three candidates who have put themselves forward for the role of parent governor. Thank you to everyone who has already cast their vote. If you have not yet voted, please remember that the deadline to do so is 9:00 am on Wednesday 19th May 2021 when the election closes.
If you have not received an email link to enable you to vote, please contact the school office via email at office@fernhill.rbksch.org or call them on 020 8247 0300.
At school, we explain and demonstrate to the children regularly how to stay safe and behave appropriately online and, through a strong home school partnership, we rely on our families delivering the same messages and discussing all aspects of staying safe online at home.
Social media evolves quickly and we recognise that many of our children have access to social networking platforms, via their mobile phones or home devices. Please be aware that the minimum age for a majority of popular sites including Tik Tok, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube is 13. For WhatsApp, it is 16. Please be alert to what platforms your child is using and who they are talking to on those platforms. One platform that is gaining popularity is Discord, a voice and text chat app used by online gamers to talk to other players. If your child uses it, we strongly suggest that you check their privacy settings and enable the ‘Keep Me Safe’ function to change who they can talk to and what they can see.
There are several organisations that provide information and support for online safety. As a starting point, we highly recommend Net Aware which offers a comprehensive guide to apps, games and social media sites. You can find further resources to support your child to use the internet safely and responsibly on our website here.
Tree Tops — limited places available

PSA News & Events
Thank you to everyone that donated and bought from the second hand uniform sale on Friday, which raised £435.62. This included very generous cash donations of £105, which is hugely appreciated. The sale could not have gone ahead without the hard work of the amazing volunteers who helped set up, sort through, run and pack away. A special thank you to you all.
